Max HP for stock 302 block

Just curious what the max HP a stock 302 block will take? One of these days id like to play with a 302 and perhaps throw a turbo on it and some nice heads and see what kind of power I could get out of it, especially streetable.

I was thinking i heard a 302 was only good for maybe 500 at most but I dont remember for sure.

with the stock blocks RPM will kill ya- until you have too much boost and then you'll be spitting out head gaskets. For 500hp build it to peak around 5500 RPM and run at about 15psi and you should have a good balance of the two to give you good reliability. A good balance job, good heads, and a good turbo will all help a LOT to make that power and make it live.

Well the stock oem rotating assembly in a for mustang i think they have forge pistons. With the low po version i think the stock rotating is all cast and not very strong. 500 might not be easy to come buy with stock stuff. Even with heads and boost. All forged new heads 500 should be reliable for street use.
