max lift with Stock Big block Chevy valve springs

I would be interested in any ones experience with how much lift a Stock Big Block Chevy valve springs will handle - I want to run a hydraulic (non roller) with .525 intake and .525 exhaust lift and I am wondering if my stock springs will take it

Depends on the year of the head what will fit, but why bother?? Why would you want to hamstring your new performance cam with worn out old soggy valvesprings that will likely go into valve float at only 4000 rpm?? They were only marginally strong enough for the stock cam.

You can get decent springs from www.competitionproducts.com Part # 98611 would fit the bill nicely $56

Make sure your heads don't have exhaust valve rotators, it will require a spring seat shim set if they do
