Maximum tire size for a 6" and 7" wide rim?

What is the maximum width tire that can be used on a 6" and a 7" wide rim.

I am trying to make a decision to install 15x6 or 15x7 wheels on my 37 Ply. I'd like to have a P205 on the front and maybe a P225 on the rear. Before I price new wheels I need to know how to compare tire width to rim width.
