McCord 6809 steel shim gasket

I am working on a 305 rebuild and my machinist is asking me to find a McCord 6809 head gasket. Does anyone know of where I could buy some?

Thanks,

Dave

A better option is what Thickness and Bore size Gasket does your machinist want/need?

Problem there is that basically McCord doesn't exist anymore. McCord has been bought out a couple of times. I believe Clevite has them now under the Victor-Reinz name.

Thanks for your reply. He wants the McCord because it is .015" thickness and a bore of 3.84". He said that running in a stock 5L class you need to get all you can and using the 4.100" bore gasket is giving to much.

Thanks again.

Ya, I know. My engine guy said he was giving me some homework and its turning out to be pretty tough. I think the Victor-Reinz may have a gasket but it isn't .015". Not for sure on that as I haven't had time to look into it yet.

Thanks

My dad took me snipe hunting as a child, sat on the snipe trail for over an hour right at midnight, on our stomachs, bag held wide open, but they never came running down it. I"m sure I saw one, but he got away.

My first snipe hunt was as a Cub. Lotsa fun, just the same! lol

The OP can get a copper head gasket close to those specs, a little thicker @ 0.021" but the bore's correct- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCE-011852/
