A friend of mine gave me a 235 Chevy six to get it out of his way. It turns out his dad was into building six bangers and had left him a '58 Apache with a built 261 in it, and had left a lot of parts from other old projects. He asked if I also wanted an old manifold that had been lying around the shop for years. He said he had no idea what it is for. It is an aluminum McGurk set up for two carbs (he said the carbs had disappeared a long time ago). I did a search for McGurk on the net and found a lot of info about McGurk, but nothing about this manifold. I posted on another message board I belong to and learned that it should fit the 235. It is identical to the one in this picture. Can anyone here give me any more info about this manifold?
The way I understand it, the old McGurk manifold molds have been bought by the Wayne company. They are supposed to be reintroducing many of the old pieces. There is a great deal of interest in their multi-carb setups.
