McMaster-Carr for supplies

Yesterday afternoon at about 3:30 I ordered some "odd ball" materials from McMaster-Carr in New Jersey. Today, at about 1:30 the UPS guy rang the bell with my order - absolutely great service even if the do have a confusing web site for the unintiated.

Dave

I opened the package and one of the items was damaged and not by UPS - called MM-C and a replacement will be in my hands tomorrow - NICE - and since it was a $6 item, I even get to keep the bad one

I order from them all the time for all my hard to find stuff. Great people to do business with. I think they also have a couple other stores, one down south somewhere and one on the other side of the old Mississip.

McMaster Carr is great.. I use thier catalog for a reference book, especially for fastners, and hardware. I also like them because they do not hassle you with COD, or payment terms. They ship and send me a bill.

When I ran my shop I used them for years and had no complaints at all, don't know what I would have done without them. We always said if you can't find it at Mcmaster Carr it probably don't exist!

They also have a facility in Aurora, OH (suburb of Cleveland) where you can place an order and pick it up in about an hour. Their catalog is a must have.

Nothing but good things to say here too, they're awsome. You canorder small quatities, prices are great, the shipping is dirt cheap and next day if you not to far.

I have been ordering stuff from Mc Master Carr for 20 years.

They like me so much I get a paper catalog mailed to me every year.

3600 pages of industrial wonderment unequaled in this universe or the next.

When I get a new catalog I have people waiting in line for my old one. (no lie)

I can't say enough good stuff about them.

Do not hesitate to order from them, you won't be dissapointed.

Later,
Mikey

Add my name to the list of McMaster Carr fans. I have even managed to get the unit I work for ordering materials from them.

Look what I got in the mail yesterday.

Yeah!
Nothing beats a paper catalog, IMO. This one has over 3600 pages. All business, no hype, sales pitches or giant pictures.

They ship so fast because they have a state of the art, automated picking system. I know that their phone system is so advanced that it only rings once on my end ..and they already know who I am. (the account info shows up on the screen automatically)
I have never waited for an operator or gotten any kind of automated phone menu system.

If a guy could be in love with a company for the way they are,
this would be it. Why don't we have a "heart" smiley?

Later, mikey

Nya nya nya nya nya.

My old one won't last long. Those things are like gold.

Actually, the paper catalog is an exact reproduction of the website, down to the page number. It is alot faster for a dolt like me to see all of the stuff in the catalog though.

And having a paper catalog that big can only show the commitment a company has to providing good service to the little guy. Not every company has fingertip access to high speed internet.

So many companies these days don't want to spend the money to produce a paper catalog. The fact that they are willing to send one out to a small company like mine lets me know that they want my business.

It's also easy to find on my desk..it's yellow.

Mikey
