Post Measuring for shocks

Iam having to fabercate shock mounts on my frame for the rear of my truck. It orginally had knee action shocks. How do I measure what size of shocks I need? Thanks

If you are talking about a street car or truck this is how we do it. Truck sitting on all four we measure and tack the bracket that will give us roughly half stroke while sitting no load. This is with a standard long stroke shock that you would find on a passenger car. If you are using a short stoke, say lowered truck we set the truck with very little up travel in them to allow for smoother ride over bumps. This is for the rear.
