Most electric speedometers (aftermarket) have a sending unit that goes into the transmission LIKE the cable has a gear. You buy the right sending unit ( Turbo 350....C6 ect) and install it in the transmission. Real easy....then run a wire to the new speedometer. Then do the calibration setting per the manufacturers instructions..... EASY......but I prefer the old mechanical ones........MAYBE because I can get them to read correctly..
