media question

Does anyone know where to get crushed walnut shells for media blasting & also you just use a regular sandblaster right ?

You can get walnut shell from any good abrasive supplier,I get mine in pallets of 50 lb. bags at about $17.00 per bag,before shipping,you will probably pay more buying single bags.

It comes in coarse,medium and fine,if your doing metal,get the coarse as the finer grades are not agressive enough,also walnut shell will not remove rust,it is not hard enough,even some paints and primers cannot be taken off with it.
I blast log houses with it,check it out.

blasting requires a lot of cfm not pressure. to give you an idea i have 185 cfm compressor and run 1 1/4 hose with a 3/8 nozzle. i use acrylic and starblast
