It sounds like a good time being had. Not sure about Dubai, but the indoor skiing there might almost be worth it though I had my fill of broiling and sandy countries, especially Egypt, Kuwait and Saudi. From seeing the European weather these past few weeks, that sure could have been better, but it does look better for the most part.
I agree that getting back to your 'native' language after a while away is really a great feeling. I've struggled on trips and have to say that even flying into New York City and their so-called English sounded good after an extended trip.
I hope you are able to head North to Scotland or at least the Yorkshire Dales/Hadrian's Wall as much of that is the way England was not too many years ago. Also, they drive on the LH side of the road which should be somewhat easier for you - and the traffic anywhere near London is about as bad as anywhere in the world.
just logged on to say gidday from France. We have made it from Aus to singapore, to Dubai, to Rome and (2 wks ) later out of italy to Switzerland and into France. 10 days and we will be into the UK where our language will return to almost normal. We have met New York medstudents, florida retirees, you name them weve met them. We have a merc c180 diesel in France and driving here is mad. Cant wait to giveit back. We were passed by a screaming red Ferrari today and a Shelby cobra in Switzerland at full noise. ( nearly as good as a 347)
cheers from downunda.
p.S. you were right about the weather here. Picked up this new merc at Hertz , Lyon . pouring rain, fogged up before we made it out of the car park and drove it over a concrete gutter with a loud crunch. :)
