I'm going to be getting some ik200's I've ported 3 seperate heads on my own but its mostly just cleanup and trying to get them visually similar looking. As 200cc intake ports are probably on the bigger side for my 355 sbc I just want to do what I can to maximize velocity.
Also have you ever heard of somender singh in the chamber? Have you ever heard about making sort of a crosshatch pattern or paths similar to the inside of the gun barrel in the intake runner? These are just a few things I've read about and was curious about these. Not willing to try on my brodix but my 882's would be more than awesome. -
Hey F-Bird'88,
Got a few questions for you. I'm wanting to rebuild the motor in our Sprint car for this season. Currently it has a SBC 350 +.040, Scat 3.75 crank and 6" Lunati rods. The block needs another bore to +.060 because of pitting. AFR suggested using their 227/65cc Eliminator head (AFR 227cc SBC Eliminator Race Ready Racing Heads 1068). Of course we are running alcohol so the motor needs to run high compression. I am keeping the crank and rods but having to rebore I will need new pistons. The pistons that came out of it are Hypers and I want forged. I am looking at the Probe SRS Forged Pistons #13719-060 and adding a roller cam for 4000-7500 RPM. Can you give me some suggestions on the pistons and cam and any other info you can spare? Thank you. -
hey f-bird .my question is iam replacing afr 200 heads with dart iron eagle 215's .do u think this will change my vtp clearance if I use the same 1.5 rocker ratio and springs the cam will remain the same as the head gasket.this is on the 421 u have talked to me about.what sort of variables might come into play here ?valve height? thanx for your advice jerry

Part 2...i haven't seen a post anywhere exactly like my motor. I think the physics are there, i just need to balance them together for the end result. I was going to drop in my '81 z28 but also considered my 77 'vette. Blow up in metal probably better than fiberglass...lol my wiseco pistons 4.040 are domed on spark plug side only, droping off to the valves cuts. I believe the domes are only 8cc or maybe 12cc i need to call them. Don't mean anything by it but i fought off cancer from 09-2010 to work on my 302. I'm near remission and a purpose along with my first grand son being a year old now. Started on my motor in april. Thanks again and i respect your craft with utmost admiration and appreciate your dedication and strive in making better mechanics of all of us... Thanks tj

Fb88, thanks for the very informative reply. What do you feel about all the other replys? Your was really the only one who directly answered my questions. I have never met anyone thus far who has used this combo on a 302. I'm going to grind a little and test fit one cylinder and proceed from there. I've been reading about squelch and squish and i want my squelch between 40-60 (you advised 38) acording to research. I'm concerned about the dome pushing the mix to the valve side of cylinder and causing pm det. I'm thinking about going to .060 mls w/rubber coating to give a little more room. Hope that doesn't drop my cpr too much. I'm going to check the fluid check cc pre and post grind on the heads. I have to stay off the pistons because on balancing done. Heads have already been ported and polished and 2.02 valves...ect. Modified springs, threaded rocker studs and guide plates. Hoping i can use my old alum rr 1.5's.
