I was hoping you can help. I had a 351w built for my 68 mustang. I am pretty sure it is a 1969 motor. The shop dyno'd the motor before I picked it up, which means there was a flexplate on the motor at some point. The motor has been at my friends/mechanics house waiting to be put in. I am having a c4 transmission built for the car. The guy rebuilding the 1974 c4 asked me to buy a flexplate and a torque converter. When I went to check the motor, there was no flexplate. When I went to buy one online there are internally weighted and externally weighted. I was told to ask the shop who built my motor which flexplate I needed. They have been unresponsive. I see on the list of parts I purchased from the motor shop a "FRA202 flexplate." When I search that it seems like that is a flexplate for a c6 tranny. I'm not sure what flexplate/torque converter to get so that they match up with my c4. The c4 has a small bell housing, just like my stock c4 had.

    Hi Dave
just logged on to say gidday from France. We have made it from Aus to singapore, to Dubai, to Rome and (2 wks ) later out of italy to Switzerland and into France. 10 days and we will be into the UK where our language will return to almost normal. We have met New York medstudents, florida retirees, you name them weve met them. We have a merc c180 diesel in France and driving here is mad. Cant wait to giveit back. We were passed by a screaming red Ferrari today and a Shelby cobra in Switzerland at full noise. ( nearly as good as a 347)
    cheers from downunda.
p.S. you were right about the weather here. Picked up this new merc at Hertz , Lyon . pouring rain, fogged up before we made it out of the car park and drove it over a concrete gutter with a loud crunch. :)

IRELANDS CHILD,I APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT AND CONCERNS,I HAVE NO INTENTION WHATSOEVER OF ALTERING THE STOCK APPEARENCE OF THIS TIMELESS BEAUTY,THE WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEMS OF IT'S DRIVETRAIN INCLUDE MAJOR TRANNY ISSUES,SHEDDING WHEELS AND HUBS, AND OVERHEATING. THIS CAR WILL ACTUALLY RUN AND DRIVE WELL IN ITS PRESENT STATE BUT IT IS INHERENTLY UNRELIABLE. MY GOAL IS TO PUT IN A BULLET PROOF DRIVETRAIN ON A NEW SUBFRAME WHILE RETAINING STOCK DRIVE TRAIN AND SUBFRAME TO RECONVERT WHEN i SELL THE CAR IF PURCHASER DESIRES. AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT
