Just be sure you use a gasket with a pre-flattened fire ring to prevent brinelling of the aluminum surface of the heads. Fel-Pro 1003 is the default gasket to use on a 350 block.
I'd shoot for a static compression ratio of between 9.6:1 and 10.2:1 for pump gas. Should work great with a tight (0.035"-0.045") squish. Use an Edelbrock RPM intake and 1 3/4" long-tube headers and a minimum of 14" x 3" air filter. I like to buy the 14 x 2 and stack 2 of 'em to make a 14 x 4. If you make it easy for the motor to breathe in and to exhale, you'll be way ahead of the game.
