Wild2cpl; The rims I used were from a GMC 60 year model. They are "Bud" wheels.
My Ford truck is "49 F7". Ford only made about 418 of these. The GMC wheels were a direct Bolt-up. This got rid of those "Suicide Rims. As for the 429,, some of the original Bell Housing holes closely line-up. I used a Mag base with "dial indicator"(on the Fly Wheel) to align the bell housing,, and Drill and Tap the Remaining holes. I Used the 429 pressure plate,, and the 49 Disc. Input shaft was a shoe-in. Speed is about the same. This old truck is NOT for the Interstate!!. You will be "Red Lined" at about 60 MPH !! These units were built to pull. Remember, the 49 gear box is the old "Double Clutchin" to shift. The original Henry SpeedO has the Shift Indicator for Shifting "UP". Use it, It works. The F7 has "Vacuum Boost Breaks" and work very good.
Anyways,,,Happy Trails bob
