Post Merc front end swap?

Can anyone out there tell me if you could put a 49 or 50 Merc front end (fenders & hood) on a 50 Lincoln and still have it match up to the doors? I have been lookiing at some pictures and the way that the fenders kind of flare out and the doors do the same, seem to be the same on both body styles. I am curious if anyone has had any experience with this or knows anything about it.
The Lincoln front end is ok, but the Merc front end is soooo much meaner!

Thanks!

They are basically the exact same car. They should swap out with little or no work involved. Both lincoln and mercury were a ford product just different levels of luxory and afordability. The lincoln just has a bit more chrome and some other goodies. Like I said it should swap out with little or no custom work involved.

I keep trying to tell you, that Lincoln's going to drive you to drinking! Now just give me directions and I'll dispose of it for you at no cost.

Oh yea, the Merc was called a baby Lincoln, That Merc front end is a bolt on. They had the same basic body.

Did you get that engine to fire? I remember you said the starter would turn it over but you hadn't tried to statr it. Just wondered how it ran.

Senor,
I just e-mailed a person I know in the Columbus area that used to supply our fasteners where I work. His former partner has a club in the Columbus area for nothing but Fords & Mercs. He did have a website on their business site but it is no longer on there. He is still around though. Hopefully I'll hear back from him in the morning and I can let you know how to get ahold of him for some first hand technical stuff for your Lincoln. This guy knows his stuff and you've probably even seen him cruising around before or at shows. He's got a slammed '50 and it's like new. As soon as I hear back I'll let you know.
