Mercedes W140 Engine Swap (65AMG)

Hi Hotrodders!

For ever several years I was was thinking about swapping and old W140 engine for a new 65AMG. I always wanted to create a rare exhibition model that could beat several auto shows.

Over that time I've talked to various mechanics who stated that this is theoretically possible but none of them have done something similar. So my question is whether it is possible or have anyone heard smth similar?

What I was told by the mechanics is if I will be able to get an engine, transmission and engine computer form a donor 65AMG the rest can be substituted by custom performance parts. Is this true, or are there any other issues to be aware of?

I am really looking to hear some of your comments!

amg s65 engine swap

i bought a 2008 amg s63 used and the price was $14000.00. so i know a amg s65 engine will cost alot more. i was going to put it in a 1991 mercedes 560 sec that has been turned into a widebody but after finding out that i would need about $10k more just to get it running. i went with a 6.1 hemi engine and got more hp and easyer install. the 6.1 wasn't a walk in the park to put in.
