Don't take this to the bank, but I have been told the Marine computer is a truely ruggedized unit that you can install in the engine bay of your car/truck. It should have the same number on the computer, but the EProm may be some what different since it most likely will not have VATS and the fuel and spark curves will be more optimized for the marine use.
As Trees mentioned, what I have heard about the EFI module that comes with GM's Ramjet series, is that it is a Mercruiser unit repacked in a GM Performance Parts package. I have also heard that the EPROM is tailored to a more aggressive RPM level and the injector timings and dwell have been optimized for the Ramjet.
The unit you are talking about is the MEFI unit. It is a stripped down version of EFI. It works VERY well. You will need to reprogram it to what ever you are using.
