metal coolant tank

hi guys,

I spoke to my local radiator shop and they recommended to either swap to an F body cooling system (which means new radiator) or find a metal coolant tank to replace my plastic dorman tank:

I'm looking for a metal tank that is similar (if not smaller) in size to replace the one I have. Anyone have any suggested tanks I should look into? Most tanks these days are all plastic and I would like to remove that as a point of failure.

Jegs has one but the inlet is in an awkward position... any other good universal ones I should look into?

oh shoot i thought it was in my signature...

1984 Jaguar XJ6 w/ 1995 Camaro LT1, w/ T56.

Previously I had a B-body engine in the car, which had a coolant system rating of 15psi. The overflow tank I was using was a 1999 chevy malibu, rated for 15psi. However the camaro's coolant system is rated for 18psi -- i've been told/have read that 3psi doesn't make a difference really... but when i was driving around in 110 degree heat, the coolant tank blew at the seam, causing me to lose my coolant, overheating the engine and causing me to have to replace the head gaskets and get the heads worked on.

The stock F-body radiator is different from the one i'm running now, which had the cap as part of the radiator assembly itself. My radiator is the kind found on corvettes -- filled with a remote filler. I'm trying to find a metal coolant tank that is similar is shape and size to the malibu tank, or just a metal coolant tank that has the same hose inlet sizes.

It's been tough finding a coolant tank that has all my specs. my other idea was to use a remote filler neck, but a couple radiator shops said it wasn't a good idea.

what do you think?
