However, "advertising" is hard to define sometimes. If the primary purpose is to help our members, and not to profit, then it could be allowed. Please PM me the details so I can check it out and decide.

Either way though, this would probably be a Lounge post.

John, Jon, I don't see any reason to delete the original post, and I certianly don't see a reason to move it to the lounge.

THIS is the paint and body section, THIS is the forum where this subject has been discussed at length. Jon, we know that John has posted here many, many times with advice for free, as far as I am concerned if he makes a million bucks (though I am sure it will be just short of that ) I still don't care if he is "advertising" here in this fashion.

There are a number of people here who offer a product or service who regularly give some super valuable advice for free. If they post over and over holding the "secrets" back while never missing to include the methods of sending money, that is a little different, NO BODY has done that.

If they post mentioning a new product or service as John did, I see nothing wrong with it. Personally I feel it is a damn shame to even have to mention it. The ONLY reason I did was to plant guilt in the person who would have planned on *****ing.

I don't really see it as advertising. While there may be a nominal amount of money involved, the primary purpose of John's event seems to be to spread knowledge, which is our mission.

I said to place it in the Lounge, because it isn't specifically a "tech" issue, more of an "event" issue, but I know that's easily debatable. We can place a link to the Lounge post in this thread, and we should have our bases covered.
