Michigan Members
I have kind of a personal vendetta with the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA).
Every year recently we have been charged extra on our car insurance in the form of an MCCA "fee". This year it was an additional $127. Next year it's going up again. This fee is set by private insurers and they are apparently responsible to no one. Plus, no one apparently is allowed to review their findings. Recently, I saw a state representative, I believe his name was Lak, who made a news statement about changing the law so that there is some vestige of control over the MCCA. I have e-mailed all the state representatives from my area, and I encourage the Michigan members to do the same, and complain about the current law and request a change. |

let's raid the place. I live in MI too and man oh man, there was a kid working the McDonalds drive through the other day with a PhD in unemployable skills...
wait a minute, isn't any skills these days unemployable in Michigan? Hmm... |

The only slight relief I've found is that I have two cars ('67 and '72) insured with American Collectors' Insurance and they give you a break if you have historic or antique plates. Other insurers may give the same break...ask!
