Mickey Thompson Crossram

I'm looking to put a Mickey Thompson Crossram intake on my 350 chevy. I know I can't use an HEI with it but I was wondering about the distributor lenght. I heard somewhere that a standard small block points type isn't the right lenght. Does anyone know anything about these intakes?
