Mickey Thompson tires

Is anyone running Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R's on the back of a muscle car? How are they on the street, around corners, and at the strip? Does anyone else make a good all around performance tire to fit a 15 inch rim? In the Mickey Thompson S/R's I'm looking at the 26x12x15's for the back and 26x10x15's for the front. I want a summer, directional, performance tread, not an all season. I have some real nice Firestone SZ50's on my '67 Camaro now, but they're worn out and Firestone doesn't make a 15 inch SZ50 anymore. TIA

M/T tires

When I bought my ET wheels about 7 years ago, I asked them for tire recommendations & they specifically told me to stay away from M/T. Now I do not know who makes them today; if it has changed hands or if the product has improved. So this is what I would do - check w/the wheel manufacturers to see if they will give you any comments. I would also check any wheel alignment shops for comments. I would also search out anyone running them today @ local cruise ins or rod runs. As a last resort I would check w/the guys @ Coker Tire. They were @ Louisville NSRA & I saw they had the M/T tires on display. They may be able to offer some guidance.

Sorry not much help , but I don't use or know if anyone who has M/T tires.

Good Luck !
Mike

Thanks for the input. I know one guy that uses them and he likes them. I don't think he pushes his car very hard though. The problem is finding a good performance street tire for a 15 inch rim about 26 inches high with a 10 to 12 inch footprint. There aren't a whole lot of choices out there besides street legal drag slicks. I ran a pair of Nitto's for a couple months and I thought they handled terribly around corners.
