Mid seventies plastic interior resto/repair ?

Just wondering if anybody has had any luck sanding the plastic interior parts and painting them. My car is a 74 Olds Omega. The plastic is rough with some chunks(small) missing. Wont be easy finding replacements.
Ideas welcome.

if you click on the picture and move the cursor on the pass seat,(and click again) you'll see what I'm refering to.

Those pieces can be brittle from age so use some scrim fabric and epoxy on the backside to strengthen them. then apply a adhesion promotor to them and then you can paint them with a 2k primer and your regular auto paint. works out fine..

should have made this a 2 part question, door panels?

The door panels look pretty solid however the p.o. seemed to be a machinist and they are stained pretty bad and one was dyed(?) or painted white and looks bad. How would one go about getting a dye to match the paint on the plastic or maybe do the dye 1st then have the paint matched?
I am assuming dye would be the way to go on the vinyl door panels.
Thanks!
