Mig Welding
I didn't know where to put this question. Move it if you need to.
Can I mig weld stainless and aluminized exhaust tubing together without problems ? Hot , cold , fast , slow or experiment ? Thanks a bunch ! 454 RATTLER

Yes you can, the aluminizing will burn off...use stainless wire. You will have better results if you wire wheel off the AL first from the joint.

I've done it without using SS wire....seems to be holding up ok. Used normal temps

Thank you both for your replies.
I think I'll try a little piece without the SS wire first. Since I'm going to town anyway I'll get the SS wire and see how that works too. BTW, I'm sorry to say that I DID NOT use the search function. Brain Fade, I guess ! Thanks again !! 454 RATTLER
