I was wandering if you guys could suggest some mild cam grinds for 454. Something with a slight lope but still practical for daily use if need be. The one in the truck im interested in has more of a race grind.86silverado short wheel base. The guy said it has a 850 holley(headers) on it already and I think its still stock geared with stock converter.

edelbrock performer camshaft is the most mild i would install,works great in truck for pulling boats,cars,tractors.but since this is light truck(gvw) i would stick with one of the first two cams that were suggested by bumpstick in his reply.probably should install a towing converter to at least raise the stall up to 1500-1800,unless you have the 3.08 gears then leave the stock converter.

I have an XE262 from Comp that idles smooth when hot, but a little lope when it first comes off the choke. It specs out to 218/224 on a 110 LSA. Ripping strong torque and I'm running big tires and 2.73 gears. Would be a perfect tow rig with an OD and 3.73s

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've been listening to some sound clips. I'm thinking the 262voodoo would work for me with the addition of some gears.
