mini spool

i have 76 gmc sprint with a 10 bolt open rear end. i've thought about finding a limited slip differential but was wondering about a spool. i know a spool locks up the rear end all the time. does a mini spool do anything different? are spools practical for everyday driving?

The mini- spool just replaces the spider gears (and side gears) in the open differential housing with pieces that lock the axles and housing together! These are usually only recommended for circle track use! NOT FOR STREET USE !!!! If you are thinking about using this on the street, please P.M. bobcrman for some eye opening incite!!!!!

Spools, mini or any other type, are NOT DESIGNED FOR STREET USE!

Bad things can happen, like broken axles. Also tire life is extremely limited.

Not to mention the operational characteristics.

If you have never driven a locker in the winter, and then borrowed your buddies Jeep with a locker, you are in for a surprise and FAST.

A spool is meant for off road ONLY applications.
