Is a Mini Spool safe for highway use? The Ride is used mostly for street racing but I have to drive to different towns to do that. I was wondering what to expect on highways and curves with both tires locked.

The spool is dangerous to run on the highway in slick conditions, and you have to take it easy on corners, but it can be done.

With both tires constantly rotating at the same speed when you turn the inside tire will be rotating at the same rate as the outside tire and the tires will wear faster. On rainy days this is a absolute no no. Being that you are from arkansas I know you have alot of roads with some turns that you dont want to take at normal speeds, if you take away the traction from one wheel going around these corners inertia may get the best of you. Personally I like the Eaton posi unit and I have never had any problems. Best of luck to you.

SO what is the best brand of posi unit to buy for the money and have any of yall used the ones that came from the factory? Will they hold up to some horses? If so which year had them. Its for a 12 bolt truck rearend, 410 gears.
