missing holes in oil filter??

I couldn't find a Fram PB50 filter so I picked up the Carquest crossover unit. I cannot see for the life of me how this is supposed to pass an adequate amount of oil - it looks as if someone forgot to punch the holes!

Yeah I'd say they forgot a step when they were making it............. Scary to think how many might be out there like that and how many people wouldn't pay any attention and not noticed it.

I'd say throw out both the fram and carquest filters and start buying better brand filters......... I personally prefer Wix, or AC Delco (if I'm working on one of my GM's)

It's been said that fram quality has gone down hill, I know I've personally seen fram air filters with rubber "flash" covering 3/4 of the air filter, and have herd lots of bad things about their oil filters, but have never used them.

Downhill from where, or when?
They've been garbage for as long as I've been in the parts biz. (1979)

The last PH8A cutaway that I saw was actually an "improvement" over the 1979 version. AT LEAST the pleats now had a metal cleat installed at the media joint. The media was simply overlapped a few folds and glued to cardboard end caps on the '79 vintage.

I seriously want to crawl under John Forces funny car and check what he uses on his. (Orange paint on a Wix?) LOL

Edit:
BTW ... that filter is not "missing holes".
It's designed to flow 1-3 GPM
