mixing types of seam sealer / dry?

Hey I was wondering if theres any harm in apling a diff. brand of seam sealer over the dry (2 days ago) 3m brush on 051135 08656.I,m thinking of going over the fire wall repaired areas with somthing cheaper I can really goop on Like the MD w/silicne from the hardware store..I,m overly afraid of pin wholes from my welding .

no it should be ok if its a hard finish, but i would use some sandpaper and skuff the surface to make sure it makes some good contact but i wouldnt use silicone
