Model A body subframe help please.

I finally got around to splitting the body on my A and found the body sub frame to be in horrendous shape! Someone before my family got their paws on it did some REALLY bad d.i.y. repair.

Here is my dilemma, the body is completely apart and the only good part of the body frame is the two feet where the doors are.
The front half is badly hammered and rotten and the back half is almost gone!

How should I proceed? Is it better to make a new one from scratch or some how patch what I have?

What should I use to make a new sub frame? Bend sheet steel and try to duplicate what was there or square tubing notched and bent?

I am not sure where to go from here.... any ideas or pics of what you guys have done would be greatly appreciated

All of those parts have been available for years. You should be able to find them from a number of different suppliers. I would make the whole thing from new.

Okay, I have been through all of my magazines and just spent hours on the net looking for the body sub frame with no luck...

All I seem to find is countless companies that sell floor pan kits. I can make the pans my self fairly easily, I am looking for the frame the pans attach to or suggestions on making a new one..
Thanks guys!

Fortunately for you, most every body part for a Model A is available as reproduction. If the 2 sources posted don't carry them, they can most likely tell you where you could get them.

A parts suppliers

MAC's, Snyder's,LeBarron-Bonney, Brattons, Lobeck, Wescott to name a few have almost any part of an "A" you could ever want. I have bought from all the above and all are OK. Most everything is made by a couple of US plus a couple Taiwanese companies for them - pricing does vary significantly though and quality is fair to say the least.
You do have to know the body manufacturer and model number as Ford used Murray and Briggs bodies as well a some of his own - LOL
Most have websites - and to find more, go to Google and type Model A. Your next fun time will be wood parts - don't even try to make your own unless you like frustration. Here again, body mfr and model number are necessary. '31 slant windshield models take almost no wood, Vicky's - lots, including much of the sub frame
