model a dash/gas tank
I am replacing firewall on a model a. I am going to use the upper gas tank.I will use the front of the tank as my dash.I cut everything out and set the tank in.So far so good. The dash from the inside is about five inches back from the door post.I believe that after market dashes or 32's are flush with the door post. I will be putting a/c in this car.It doesn't look like there is enough room behind the dash.I will need that five inches for anything i put behind the dash.Any suggestions?

The dash that I built for my Model A is flush with the door posts, my gas tank is in the trunk so I have plenty of room behind my dash as I cut the original gas tank out because I did not want to drive around with a tank of gas in front of me.
