model a pick up bed

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I recently started a new street rod project, 1931 ford pick up and it is going to need a new bed. Or side panels. in looking around on the internet, I ran across a place that is quite a bit cheaper than others, called: Last Refuge Hotrods in Delores, Colorado. I have found in the past that cheaper isn't always better. But in the same note some turn out well. Now down to the point. Has anyone ordered from here? And what was your experience? Good or Bad? Thanks Guys and Gals

If you are going street rod this can be done at the local sheet metal shop..that is if they have a large sheetmetal brake..Use 16 or 18 gauge metal and have them bend a 90 degree flange on the bottom edge of the bed side and a 45 degree flange on the top edge of the new bed side..then weld a tube to the top edge of the bedside..the reinforcing uprights from the old bed may be reuseable or you can make new ones from square tube..The tailgate and cab end can be done the same way...works fine for a street rod..may not be the way to go if one is doing a restoration and wants it all to be like Henry built it..

As Sam said, if you don't require a stock replacement, you have a couple of options including building the bed yourself. Here's one I fabricated for my current project. You can see each step of the bed construction beginning here. This is all made from basic flat stock, tubing, and 18 gauge sheet metal...with no brake or bending equipment...so quite doable by most rodders with a decent welder and average shop equipment.

I have a friend who ordered one. Good quality but very slow. Almost 6 months for delivery. Lots of excuses along the way.
