What Fits and what doesnt
With the addition of a new section in the forum for Modern Engine Electronics, It should be defined what constitutes a valid post as opposed to what should be in another section. So with that, here goes.
Ignition and fuel systems are where most of the differences will apply or come from. For instance a points distributor is so old school that it should be in the engine or basic section. Nothing much new with points for years now A basic HEI system like the Big cap GM HEI or a Duraspark system from ford should be in the engine section or electrical if wiring one up is in the question. How to aquire one should be basic.Neither one uses a computer or type of processor to operate. Both are just "amplifiers" if you will. An electronic distributor , electronic carb and fuel injection should be IN the MEE ( Modern Electronic Engine) section as it HAS a computer in charge of calculating timing events and fuel ratios, where a standard HEI and non electronic carb uses totally mechanical devices to achieve such adjustments. I hope this helps with any questions you may have .
