Post Modern Technology

Picked up a new mouse and keyboard tonight. All cordless. Man this thing is great. I never knew how nice a cordless mouse could be. Has the scroll wheel on it so no driving it all over the mouse pad. The keyboard you can sit back with it in your lap. Next move...Flat panel monitor!!!WhooHoo!!!

Uhh you wanna send me some of that money?

Thing that would annoy the hell outta me about a cordless mouse and keyboard is the batteries going dead, especially in the middle of homework or a game with no batterys in the home.

We've got the flat screen but we also have dial-up.

My wife was talking about a cordless but, never mentioned the batteries.

Good point about the batteries cause I hate anything I have to keep pouring money into.

Did I mention that we live sooo far North that the computer service has a guy that....

gets up early each day to chop the wood to warm the room to wake up the three-legged Gerbil to spin the wheel to make the power to run our computer.

That's how slow Dial up is around here.

Boy, you guys sure burst his bubble with the battery thing. I've thought about that as an upgrade for the new 'puter I just bought. I have had flat panels ever since they were offered because no matter what desk I'm using, desk real estate is always at a premium.

My wifes cordless stuff was OK, no issue with batteries........When she got a new computer, she just used the newer stuff and didnt bother with them anymore.....They are in a box somewhere, with the other "fad" stuff......

Don't think that I'll ever want a cordless mouse or etc, however, I have a little Rayovac battery charger that stays plugged in and sits on top of my hard drive for charging my digital camera batteries and it works quite well. BTW did you know that you can recharge regular alkaline batteries? They "don't" have to be the more expensive rechargeable type! What size batteries do those mouse and keyboars use anyhow?

I used to have a cordless mouse that had it's own charging dock. Worked well till the batteries crapped out..

But as far as a keyboard and mouse.. I have an IBM PS/2 keyboard ( date marked 1988, and originally came with a PS/2 computer ). And a pretty decent corded optical mouse
