Modified weiand team g intake

Has anyone heard of adding metal inside an intake for increased low end torque? I am attatching a pic of a modified weiand team g intake. (by "heads by rick").

It looks to me as if runner extensions were made, I`ve seen this done once and also read about it in hot rod magazine, it`s said it does help low end slightly since it`s reducing the plenum volume.

Heads by Rick in South Florida was doing quite a few of these welded intakes especially after Lingenfelter initially did it on some holley intakes in a big block engine buildup for I believe car craft magazine. Supposedly it builds up low end torque and helps out at higher rpm at the same time. I never tried one so I cant speak from any first hand experience on these. There may be a job number on the underside of the manifold if so they might still have a record on exactly what they did on it. 954 555 1212 should get you their broward number. Good luck.

Team G intake

I run a Team G intake on my Camaro and I "Knife-edged" the plenium dividers in it and it seemed to help. However, the engine is a very high horsepower big-block and it is run through a powerglide and is shifted at 6800 - 7000 and runs the quarter in the low 10s. Don't know for a street car - Weiand probably spends a fortune on r&d and I'd think long and hard about going to the trouble or paying someone to do this but since you already have it, try it out.
I've always heard that a dual-plane manifold was basically for the steet and the single plane was for all-out racing - anybody have any experience with this? It always made since to me so I accepted it.
