Monster Motorsports Transmissions

Has anyone ever used or had experience with a Transmission from this company? I am possibly looking at getting a 700r4 transmission to replace my Th-350. I was looking at their SS 2wd model (supposedly rated to 650hp).

I notice they also have a Corvette model that retails for a bit more. Any ideas what the difference would be (before calling them to find out which I will do eventually).

This is the corvette model info.

Any thoughts/info would be greatly appreciated.

after looking at the two I would say go with the cheaper one as there does not appear to be a big difference between the two for a $600 increase for the corvette model? what ever you do make sure you get a good custom built torque converter! just a little FYI! the 700r4 torque converter is a lousy design and even a custom built one cannot handle more than 500HP!

I don't know these guy's and don't mean this is a bad way. The web is a great tool for many things, keep in mind anyone can have a good web page, unless they have been around for years how do you know they will be there if problems occur. web pages are neat to see but you cant see where they are really at and what kinda of shop they really have. I have been around for years and built many different models, if you don't trust your units are built correctly and go install each unit before shipment that sounds a bit fishy to me . all big reman companies trust axi line style dino for testing sounds like that are unable to afford the cost they aren't cheap. that my 2 cents

Thanks for the thoughts so far. Anyone else had some experience with them or information in general?

Regards,

Dylan

I would call them directly and asked for a detailed breakdown of the parts used (and post them here). I would hope that its got the TDE torque drive drum in it, if its supposed to take 600bhp.

I'm doing my own 600bhp using parts purchased (and exported) from PATC/Tranmissioncenter. Service has been good so far (Even with a with an issue I had with a part).

Only insight I may be able to offer on the Corvette issue, is that the tailshaft is shorter (along with the tail housing i believe). There's a photo of it under "output shaft" on my page:

Hope that helps,
Eliot.
