Mopar 727B car trans bolt up to 4x4 transfer case???

I have numerous car 727B tranny's and I need to put together a trans for my truck project that originally came with a small block. The overall casing design of the 727A & the 727B seem to be identical except for the bellhousing casting for A or B blocks. Is it possible to unbolt the 727A from the 4x4 transfer case and bolt up the 727B upon removing the tailshaft of the 727B? Or is there going to be a mainshaft swap needed from another 727 model to make this work? 4x4 727B trannys are extremely hard to find , I have not even seen one as a matter of fact. I recently (finally) got a cab for this pickup and I am really wanting to make some forward progress on this project now that I have everything to get seriously into the build. All comments and theorys are welcome on this tranny subject , the more info I get the better!! Thanks fellow gear heads!!

Yes just change the output shaft and bolt the transfer case to where the tail shaft used to bolt on. To do this you will have to disassemble both transmissions. Dale
