Morbid Speed shop.... No Good!!

Anyone who finds this web only engine shop, do not use them! Horrible experience dealing with morbid speed shop. Mason P. Talks a good game and will lure you in with a good web site. Beware, things change after you pay him!
Just a warning,
Shawn

I've never understood why people think they are being cool by having such ridiculous names for their businesses that are obvious turnoff's to normal people. Like Kaotic, or Sinister, and purposely misspelling and substituting a Z where an S should be. Makes you wonder what kind of customers they're really trying to appeal to.

my experience with this web only engine shop:
long story short. i was lead by a great web site ( MORBID SPEED SHOP) and a shop owner who talks a great game. He answered every call and email within the hour on any questions i had. ended paying him $4200 for a 383 stroker with AFR heads and a roller cam ( i know too good to be true, parts alone are over that cost). Well it became harder and harder to get in contact with the builder over the 2 months with various excuses. in the end, i was sent a text of a failed engine break in run with a pic of the destroyed block. So i requested a refund and was told it would be done that day. Now, not trusting this shop at all, i requested an immediate receipt of refund. This is where Morbid speed stopped communicating with me. i called my bank and they said it would take 5 business days to show on my account. i gave it 7 and called morbid every day for a receipt. At this point i knew i was being screwed. No engine, no refund, no receipt of credit. So i reported fraud with my bank and eventually got my money back after a fight. Now i am making reviews on this shop so you rodders don't get hosed also. Be advised, on some of my reviews ( yelp) being one of them, morbid will comment on them and fabricate stories to make his shop look better. He claimed i received a double refund…. negative not possible! So, expect him to post on this forum and make up more stories. He may evan make a fake screen name. Did that on stevesnova site too. This is what i learned: never trust the internet, do your research and look for good reviews! I was dumb, don't do what i did.

There is no such thing as a web-only engine shop. The only machining services they listed was 'porting' which takes a couple die grinders. machine shops like to brag about thier state of the art machining equipment and tooling and shop pics of thier dyno room.
He shows a nice winerack/table, anybody that lists crap like that isn't a machinist.
I wonder if he does a good birdfeeder?

i looked at their site this is a quote from it. "It has been rebuilt by hand from top to bottom" well aren't they all!! also seen morbid's reply on yelp. the specs were off on the part's installed. Hell that is your job as a builder to check this out, before installing them.

Dumb move on my part! Saw the great price, one year warranty and good parts. In the end I Went with JMS in El Monte. A place that has a great rep and has been around for 30 plus years. This is what I went with and should be ready any day!
383 stroker
Scat forged rotating assembly
5.7 h beam rods
Srp forged flat tops
10:1
Afr 195 street eliminators with 75 cc
Isky 292 small base hyd cam
Scorpion 1.6 rollers
I know I should have gotten the roller stick. At least I have room to grow in a few years! Could not afford the extra grand .
Going in a 1963 nova t350, 3000 stall, 373'gears, red.
Can't freaking wait my 327 didn't cut it !
