my dad and i are working on a 1985 Chrysler Le Baron convertible. while my dad was researching he found how to give the engine more power. one thing is to turn the camshaft one tooth to give it more power and more gas mileage. another is to adapt a neon head so then it would have 4 valves per cylinder. there are probably more, but i will have my dad post them later

not to be rude but you are dealing with a chrysler le baron convert!!! you could try the neon head but they have had more than there share of problems. and it would be very sinple to change the cam timing but if you do it make sure before you put all the covers back on teunt the engine over by hand to make sure nothing hits. it may still hit but at least you will have some sort of an idea. othewise if you want more power buy an old muscle car and fix that up while you drive the stocker le baron convertable.

The whole idea behind driving a Chrysler turbo Lebaron convertible is a vehicle that will get decent gas milage while having respectable power. Keep in mind that I am not building a show car or a race car. If that was my goal I would be working on another of my many vehicles. Maybe you could tell me what old muscle car I should be driving that will get 30 mpg. I own 4 Chrysler turbo powered cars, the convertible, a Lebaron coupe and two 4-door New Yorkers.

every car has its own problems when you find the perfect car let me know me and my dad haven't found it and we have loads of cars. also my uncle hasn't found it either and he also has loads of cars.

Much easier to transplant a turbo I or II, 2.2 engine. The cam timing retard will likely net you next to nothing from a power standpoint, the gains will be minimal.

Besides this is more an economy mod than a high performance mod, if all you do is lug it around in a gear to high you might see an economy improvement but it won't be worth it from a flexibility standpoint.
