More Shifter Cable Bracket ?'s

So I eneded up getting a cable bracket - Picutre below - and it mounts up to the pan bolts. Now I got a cable - Picture Below - for a 77' camaro with a th350 and sbv8. I managed to get it to mount to the shifter just fine, but the hole on the bracket it too small to fit the cable through inbetween the bushings. I have vice gripped them together just to see if I would have enough range to shift the gears, and it works. I need some kind of C-Clamp fastener that will hold them together. Does any one know of the best route to go about this? Do they make c clamp hardware not designated for using it as a tool?
