We had this discussion months ago.
jimfulco hit it rite on the head. quote: But only if you use naphthalene moth balls, which I haven't seen since the 70's. Try putting some in now and you will be trying to unplug your gas lines. Its all false now since naphthalene is not used any more.

It's a mind over matter thing. And no....dropping in a handful of mothballs will not shave 2 seconds off of your E.T. like you hope it would.

Mythbusters did that on a recent episode. They had a 350 Chevy that they dumped literally everything in, sugar, bleach and a host of other nasty ingredients. They also dumped in some math balls into the fuel tank. The 350 gained about 500 rpm on the idle and sounded better. Of course by that time it was pretty much trashed, so it's not like it was scientific test.

they did do that, i saw it, the motor ran marginally better but then after it cooled down i believe clogged up the lines
