Motocraft Carb Identification
 

Hi I am trying to get more info on a motocraft spreadbore 4300D I picked up at a swapmeet.
Firstly the metal tag is missing, but the foot is stamped 5PE GB. This is strange because I would have expected to find a D typically stamped as the first letter of the id code.
I have checked with a 20X magnifier and there is no trace of a letter in front of the 5. All the other letters are clearly legible but nothing in front of the 5. On one of the other feet is stamped U3.
I realize without the tag ID will be difficult but I am hoping someone will be able to decipher the code and pin down the application. The carb itself is in A1 condition as far as manual operation and the condition of all the screw heads etc.
