motor

i have a chev small block motor that i have been getting into problems with when i first start the motor after i adjusted my valves it started to blow out some smoke at an idle. I ask the question and check it all out and still have some smoke. So i through i would check the heads and valve seals everything looks great. i check the cr on all cyc they are all fine 180-210. I check the top of the pistons and the #6 piston has a chip out of the corner right on top of it does anyone think this could be a problem???. I think i should stay in the house and watch T V and forget the car. lol thank you all again

It depends on how far down the side of the piston the chip goes.If you sill have some meat left over the ring land, then it should not be a problem.Try to post a pic.

Thank you for your ans and i will try to send a pic of the piston it is still in motor so it will be hard to know but it looks like it isn't bad at all it is a very fine chip. Nothing hit it like a valve i did check all that but now like i said have no clue what the problem can be and hate to but it all back and have same thing smoke you think it may be a bad PVC valve

Um, mighta coulda been doing the nasty. What motor what heads? What fuel you run? What is your combo? You sure it didn't detonate and you have more serious issues?
