motor mount ??

I know this is a long shot but anybody have any ideas as to what type of mount this is? I know it's GM and was told the front end is off a '77 Camaro but when I try to drop the 305 (just for fit) into the chassis it doesn't fit. It hits before it seats down on the mounts. It's off by about 2-3 inches. At this point I'm just trying to figure out what the front end if off of.

Hmmm, this kinda reminds me of a cartoon I saw once. There was a whole group of people standing around looking at something and one of them was saying "I don't know the answer, but I certainly admire the problem".

I think a '69 camaro engine mount will bolt to your frame mount. You might try buying a set for a trial fit.

Try unbolting it and flipping it end for end. That will raise your mounting hole up higher. We had to do this on a couple of trucks going from a 6 to an 8. You will gain a couple of inches.

Hey thanks for the suggestions. Looks like the mounts for the 69 Camaro might be the answer. I bought a set and they look like they're gonna work. Can't try it 'til this weekend so I don't know for sure yet but it looks promising.
This is going into a '47 Ford coupe....somebody else's project that I bought (yeah, I know, that was my first mistake ) and it's also my first street rod. Gonna be a long haul but so far I'm having fun!
