I am putting a 350 into an 89 Chev pick up where there was a 4.3. The bolts that attach the mount to the frame are not removable with out a backup wrench. How do I get access to the inside of the frame without removing springs and shocks and possibly the control arms. Pretty haywire engineering or something... Clint
It's a similar situation on 2nd-gen Camaros & last-gen Novas. Probably saves them a penny on the assembly line. On those, you can get to them with an appropriate conglomeration of extensions & U-joints, along with some colorful language. Might try something along that line, or maybe get a cheap wrench and custom-bend it.
cut them off with a torch and put new ones in or you can weld the new mounts right to the frame in the same or about the same location depending on where the new motor will set
