Motor mounts

Not sure if this is the right place for this question. I have a sbc and 400 trans and with the steering the only place I have for eng mount without hitting is the front of eng like the old hurst mount and the tail of the trans. I have heard stories about the trans breaking at the bell housing but have never seen it. I have run this car alot of miles like this and no problems. I thougt I could update to side mounts, but no room. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

The 400 trans may have a beefier bellhousing than a Turbo350.............I know on TriFive Chevys, its a no-no to do that.
