Moving the distributor 1 gear tooth

I need to get a little bit more advance on my timing, but the vacuum advance housing hits the intake. So, the question is, which way to move the distributor?

When setting the timing, I rotate the distributor counter-clockwise to get more advance. I'm thinking I need to lift up the distributor and turn in clockwise one gear tooth and set it back down. Is that right?

Or you could just move the wires one notch.

I like the idea of moving the wires better. The wires would be moved counter-clockwise?

Only takes a mark on dizzy rotor and housing , a spanner and remove and re,,slot the dizzy and your away ( without having to pull and replace spark leads ),,..

I went with Troy's idea of moving the wires over.

Thanks!
