Moving ECM to Interior
I am transplanting a late 60's truck body onto the running chassis of a 97 GMC truck. I'm expecting things to get a little crowded under the new/old hood. One of the things I could move out of the engine bay is the ECM unit.
Has anyone done something similar - moved their ECM into the interior of their car? Where did you mount it and were there any problems or downside? Under the dash is obvious but I was thinking more like under the front seat. Thanks |

Guess I didn't do a good job of explaining. When I take the body of a 67 IH pickup and put it on top of a 97 GMC truck chassis then all of the modern truck engine bay hardware will have to fit into a smaller space under the hood of a 67 IH.
I will do my best to keep everything inside the new space. But it will get crowded. Between the battery, the Vortec air intake and the ECM, I have some options. I thought that maybe it would be easy to relo the ECM into the interior of the cab. I was even hoping that there was an aftermarket harness adapter so I wouldn't have to splice the harness to extend the loom. |
