Mr. Carrolous Verrill
I own a 1949 Diamond T model 509 with backhoe. I have question about the battery whether it is a 6 volt & negative ground.

Everything that I have ever seen that used a 6 volt battery used a Positive ground.

GM I know is - ground as well as willys/jeep , my book doesn't cover the Diamond T. but didn't they use the Hercules 6cyl?, which IIRC Chris craft ( boats ) also used.. sorry I can't help anymore than that

Each cell of a battery is 2 volts, so if it gas 3 cells, its 6 volts..........6 cells, its 12 volts.
