I have these head gaskets Mr. Gasket 5727G bore says 4.19 thickness .044
I am running flat top pistons(464664) in a standard bore with stock vortec heads. JEGS Performance Products #555-200103
Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam & Lifter Kit
Lift: .442"/.465"
Adv. Duration: 272°/282°

Will this gasket work ok?
also running a 7516 edelbrock airgap intake trying to decide on a carb(suggestions) . leaning towards a edelbrock 1405. any idea what kinda horse power i can expect? I would like some power but dont want to be fooling with it all the time.

thanks in advance

That part number is returning any pistons on jegs or summit's websites.

Assuming the deck has not been cut (aka standard deck height of 9.025") and with standard compression height pistons (1.560") you have .025" deck clearance.

Then top that off with a .044" head gasket...

That gives you a .069" squish. That is too much IMHO. Shoot for .040-.045" squish.

Typical rebuilder pistons will have a compression height of 1.540", which in my example above would give you a squish of .089" which is way too much!

Now has the block been decked?
